Job Description

Position Summary:

Meridian Bank is actively seeking a Residential Branch Manager, along with a high-performing team of Mortgage Loan Originators, to manage branch mortgage activities.

Responsible for directly supervising branch activities in originating, processing, and closing of mortgage loans to assist in maximizing sales/profitability by developing staff and by controlling expenses; participating in establishing specific goals for the branch; determining work procedures and expediting work flow; ensuring compliance with all operating policies and procedures; directly supervising assigned employees; communicating with appropriate coworkers; providing periodic reports.

Qualifications Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Ability to work in a team environment as a role player and leader
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office, etc.)
  • High degree of attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Five years of financial/mortgage experience
Essential functions and responsibilities:
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Provides leadership, management, advice, guidance and motivation to Mortgage Loan Originators and Branch staff
  • Manages branch staff in all aspects of the loan origination process from opening to closing
  • Manages the branch budget, production and income goals within company guidelines
  • Ensures that branch staff understand the branch objectives and how they fit into the overall company objectives
  • Reviews loans to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards
  • Stays informed on regulations, trends and developments in the local real estate market
  • Provides a high level of customer relations and service
  • Manages loan pipeline
  • Performs direct supervisory duties of department staff
  • Maintains and demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of relevant compliance regulations, Meridian policies and procedures

  • Directly supervises assigned employees including assisting in the selection of new employees as appropriate, training employees and reviews performance throughout their introductory period and on an annual basis

  • Creates an environment in which upward communication from employees is encouraged

  • Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the Bank’s compliance with all regulatory requirements, e.g. Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act, etc.
