Job Description

Position Summary:

Responsible for performing various duties to support the Mortgage Loan Originator to meet sales goals while following regulatory compliance; coordinating work within the department, as well as with other departments; complying with operating policies and procedures established for this position.  Reporting pertinent information to the immediate supervisor; responding to inquiries or requests for information. Employee must maintain an active registration status with the NMLS (Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry).

Qualifications Required:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year residential mortgage lending experience
  • Understanding of mortgage processing, underwriting, and closing procedures
  • Understanding of Residential Lending regulatory requirements to maintain compliance
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office, etc.)
  • High degree of attention to detail and ability to multitask

 

Essential functions and responsibilities:
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Develops and maintains relationships with prospects, realtors, closing agents and other referral sources
  • Interviews potential customers applying for residential mortgage loans
  • Ensures applications are completed accurately and requests supporting documentation as needed
  • Orders credit and mortgage disclosures and send these disclosures to the borrower
  • Reviews commitment letters and follows up with the client on any condition/documentation required for approval
  • Sends application and other required information to the underwriting area and to the processing area to clear any conditions and prepare for closing
  • Reviews finalized documents with buyers, real estate agents, attorneys and others
  • If originates residential mortgage loans, will do according to established policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Maintains the pipeline for accuracy
