Marketing Specialist

Position Summary:
Responsible for performing various duties to support the Marketing Department; coordinating work within the department, as well as with other departments; complying with operating policies and procedures established for this position. Reporting pertinent information to the immediate supervisor; responding to inquiries or requests for information.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Preferred start date June 1 or earlier
- If a current student (graduation Spring 2026), open to a part-time period until graduation
- Position is in-office to start, opportunity to earn flexibility within the first year
- Prior office experience preferred
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc., Outlook, Teams)
- Valid Driver’s License
Essential functions and responsibilities:
- Community Support & EITC: Manage requests, keep data on previous requests up to date, ensure timely receipt of acknowledgement letters for EITC & timely delivery of sponsorship benefits and other materials for general community support functions
- Social Media: Execute, contribute to, and enhance Meridian’s social media strategy
- New Hire Marketing Support: Support new sales team hires with training and provide essential materials
- Onboarding/Offboarding Employees: Ensure our digital presence is up-to-date with employee status by activating/deactivating employee website and social media profiles
- Vendor and Expenditure Tracking: Manage all check and credit card expenditures for the marketing department and assist Accounts Payable department in keeping our vendor list up to date and accurate
- Merchandise & Literature Inventory: Keep inventory of all promotional items, apparel and marketing collateral. Regularly ensure closets are well-stocked and up-to-date on online storefront, re-order items when necessary. Support trade show efforts
- Event Support: Assist in the organization of events (both internal and external), handle registrations/work registration table, and support post-event tracking
- Template Creation & Aggregation: Develop, maintain and store proposal templates for sales and branch staff. Ensure brand consistency across all forms and templates
- Branch Support: When necessary, drive to Meridian offices to deliver and/or collect materials. Work with branches to order supplies and manage community activities
- Manage strategic partnerships with industry organizations, chambers and councils. Ensure benefits are being utilized
- Support activities to generate awareness and develop business for the bank including prospect research, product research, competitive intelligence, and researching marketing trends and opportunities for growth
- Support PR effort by maintaining an up-to-date list of journalists, editors and other PR contacts for each different business line
- Update spreadsheets, databases and inventories with statistical, financial and non-financial information
- Support marketing with scheduling meetings, coordination of seminars and events, and other daily administrative tasks to ensure the functionality and coordination of the department’s activities
