Job Description

Position Summary:

Develops and manages Private Banking relationships across the Meridian Bank footprint, with responsibility for deposit and loan growth, portfolio management, high-touch client service, and qualified referrals to Meridian Wealth Partners and other Bank partners.

Qualifications Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Relevant relationship-management and lending experience in private banking, commercial banking, or a comparable financial-services environment; required depth of experience will vary by assigned level
  • Credit training or demonstrated experience with consumer and commercial credit
  • Demonstrated ability to develop relationships and generate deposit, loan, and referral opportunities
  • Ability to work effectively across business lines and coordinate client solutions
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and ability to learn the Bank’s relationship-management, lending, and core systems
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities
Essential functions and responsibilities:
  • Ability to travel within the assigned market; a valid driver’s license is required when driving is an essential job duty
  • Develops and executes a relationship plan to achieve established deposit, loan, fee, and referral goals while maintaining appropriate credit quality, pricing discipline, and risk standards.
  • Builds a sustainable prospect and referral network through client outreach, centers of influence, coordinated calling efforts, and selected industry and community activities.
  • Maintains knowledge of relevant Bank products and services and engages appropriate partners based on identified client needs.
  • Manages an assigned portfolio, deepens relationships, monitors client needs and risk indicators, and delivers responsive, high-touch service.
  • Assesses prospect and client financial objectives and recommends suitable deposit, credit, treasury-management, wealth, and other Bank solutions. Clearly communicates relevant benefits, costs, terms, and requirements.
  • Coordinates timely resolution of client service issues and escalates matters when appropriate.
  • Represents the Bank at selected community, professional, sponsorship, and networking activities that support the assigned market and relationship strategy.
  • Demonstrates Meridian Bank’s Core Values in client and colleague interactions.
  • Complies with applicable laws, regulations, and Bank policies and procedures, including fair lending, BSA/AML, customer identification, privacy, CRA, information security, credit administration, and safety and soundness requirements. Identifies and promptly escalates potential compliance, conduct, operational, or credit concerns.
